14K Rose & Yellow Gold Band or Pinkie Ring SZ 7.5 w 8 Bright-Cut Rubies, 8 Grams

This distinctive, well-made ring features eight dark pink ruby cabochons in bright-cut settings around a band of rose gold.  The recessed trim is in yellow gold.
While the mandrel says this is a size 7.5, it fits a skoosh larger (not quite an 8).  Note that resizing isn't really an option, given the design.
We're not too sure about the age of this band.  Bright cut settings were popular before 1900, but the condition of the ring and the tones of the gold suggest later production.  Our theory is that it's a custom man's wedding band and that it's somewhere between 60 and 80 years old.
There is no maker's mark, but there is a mystery mark!  Next to the "14K" purity mark is the number "1238."  This is probably a stock or design number.  It's a pretty boring mystery.
